The Human Bean sprang to life in 1998 when two husband-wife duos in Southern Oregon were inspired to serve up fresh, delicious, made-to-order coffee alongside genuine human interaction.

To support a rapidly growing footprint of franchise locations across the U.S., ownership challenged AHM to refine the brand and consumer experience by bringing forward the authenticity that differentiates The Human Bean in an increasingly saturated industry.

The Solution

The Human Bean believes that having a hectic life doesn’t mean you need to give up the enjoyment of real, honest-to-goodness human connection to go along with high-quality specialty coffee and energy drinks. Since every location serves that belief to every customer that pulls up and drives through, that became the starting point for strategically reimaging key consumer and brand touchpoints. From restructuring their social media presence and rethinking product photography to restyling the brand’s website with strategic UI/UX design, AHM leveraged The Human Bean’s “refreshing” values and clear sense of purpose to excite current fans, support franchise growth and help newcomers understand what it means to order something that’s perfectly brewed for your mood.
